MEET BONITA
Bonita is a Community Safety Worker. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology from U.W. Madison and has served as a licensed case manager for over ten years. She has worked with people who have been diagnosed with mental health and substance abuse issues and as a certified special education assistant in Madison public schools. The loss of her son and her nephew due to Fentanyl overdoses and the fatal shooting of a cousin reignited her passion with a newfound sense of urgency. Through her work, Bonita hopes to improve the quality of life for black and brown families who face challenges in accessing affordable housing, mental health services, and substance abuse treatment.
